Philosophy

The meaning of life, a common theme in many forms. Dreams, ideas, all sorts of explorations of the questions not easily answered.

Dream Sequence

A friend of mine who shall for the time being remain nameless, was talking to me the other day about a dream he had. We were talking about dreams and flying as I am hoping to get into Paragliding or Hangliding soon. Anyway, he was telling me about this dream he had where he would run, but he would run with his arms as well as this just felt natural. We talked about other things dreams produce for us, like being unable to get somewhere on time, or not being able to run fast enough. Those sorts of unpleasant things dreams often throw at you.

So after thinking and talking about what would cause dreams to produce such strange circumstances I realised that often you would have the same dream as someone, in feeling, but not in scenario. And so we started thinking on where these feelings come from, and whether genetics play a part in it. This thought came to me when I relaised that my mates dream of running using his arms was somewhat ape like and whether his feeling of "natural" running using his arms stemmed from our genetic past.
